The security, reliability, integrity and availability of your data
are the most important aspects of ShadowStorage. The
ShadowDocuments solution is
hosted in an ultra-secure environment and monitored
around-the-clock.
Infrastructure
ShadowDocuments is hosted at enterprise-class data
centers.
Extensive physical
security measures are employed including biometric scanning devices, microchip badge
access, camera surveillance monitored by security personnel plus
motion and infrared sensing.
In addition, the
networking, hardware and connectivity infrastructure has
redundancy at all layers.
The hardware and networking consists of
carrier-class equipment from industry leaders such as IBM,
Dell, and Cisco Systems.
Several layers
of dedicated and managed firewalls protect the facility, network
and applications from malicious activity.
Redudant Array of Independent Disks (RAID - Level 5)
provide excellent performance and fault-tolerance for your
primary storage while daily
incremental backups, as well as weekly and monthly backups keep your data safe.
Availability
Connectivity to the internet backbone is
provided by several Tier 1 providers with multiple and redundant connections.
Redundant
power feeds from independent utility stations supply power to
the facility and conditioned lines with UPS (uninterruptible
power supply) and immediate battery backup ensures electrical continuity
during brown-out and black-out conditions. Additionally, megawatt-plus diesel generator provides further redundancy for
delivering continuous and
stable electrical power to all systems in the event total power
loss occurs.
Fully redundant cooling systems keep hardware running at
optimal temperatures for maximum server performance.
In the event of a fire, unique suppression systems
release environmentally and equipment-safe agents to smother the
fire without the damage and mess introduced by sprinklers or
foams.
Encryption
All
data transmissions—to and from your ShadowDocuments
account—are secured with 256-bit encryption technology, the
same level of security utilized by the most-trusted financial
institutions. The encryption process prepares data to be
securely transferred over a network, such as the Internet, in a
manner that it is unintelligible to all but the intended
recipient.
ShadowDocuments
leverages
financial-grade encryption technology using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol,
authenticated and verified by Verisign, Inc, GeoTrust or
Comodo.
Additionally, our ShadowDocuments|Group plans are equipped
with the best server-side encryption available: 256-bit Advanced
Encryption Standard (AES). We leverage the Rijndael cipher and
algorithm, the same method approved and adopted by the National
Security Agency to secure top secret information and data for
the U.S. Government.
Whether your data is in transit to or from your ShadowDocuments
account, or as it resides on our servers, it is secured with
superior encryption technologies.
Unique Logins & User Permissions
Each
user which you're collaborating with is authenticated at login.
Additionally, aside from secure data transmissions and unique login
credentials, the ShadowDocuments solution employs a permissions-based environment
that establishes a relationship between the content you store and
users you
invite to access the account. Users
only see and have access to what you want them to see.
When
an invited user accesses your account, by design, they do not
have permission to any of your content. The account administrator(s),
designated internal users, and users who "own" content, have
complete control over the user permissions for that
content.
